Weddings, Receptions or Events At West Coast Villa
Here are some real examples of guests who have used West Coast Villa for their special events. We realize that every event is unique, this page of examples should help you determine what we can do for you and what you want to do yourself. The names of the guests have been changed to protect their privacy.
In the early spring of 2009, Alan and Andrea finally decided to tie the knot. They wanted a simple civil ceremony at the courthouse with a few friends and family. They decided to rent West Coast Villa I for an intimate family reception after the wedding ceremony. They wanted to keep the cost down so they figured they would rent West Coast Villa I for the minimum of 3 nights. They booked Villa I. They would have 10 guests total. The total for the rental was $2641 for the rental including the 10% tax and cleaning fee.
But, Alan and Andrea didn't count on the fact that the number of guests who wanted to celebrate with them was going to grow. And soon there were 50 friends and family members who wanted to celebrate their wedding with them. Andrea contacted West Coast Villa again and asked what we could do to help. She asked if we could accommodate that many people. So we discussed her needs.
She had already booked West Coast Villa I for 10 people but it will sleep up to 17 in beds. No extra charge for that! Wow that's a budget saver right there.
Normally, we would make our Villa II available, but it was already taken for her dates and Andrea needed sleeping for 20 more guests. Since we have a discounted rate with one of the local hotels we booked enough rooms for her to sleep the extra out of town guests. We were able to save her over $30 per room, per night. Since she booked the hotel rooms through us, we count those guests as part of her group for the event at West Coast Villa at no extra charge.
We charged her for the 13 additional guests for the event.
Normally our basic wedding package costs $4500 and only includes one overnight rental of our Villa, but no hotel accommodations. But Alan and Andrea were on a tight budget. So we worked with them to get the most for their money.
They used one of our preferred caterers. This particular caterer provided not just the food, but a package deal that included extra tables, chairs, table linens, glassware, silverware, dishes. They are a full service, licensed and insured caterer - the only kind of caterer we permit at the villas. Since they arranged everything directly with the caterers - there was no charge from us.
So they saved on the wedding by having it as a civil ceremony. They saved on the catering costs by choosing a full service caterer. They saved on the tables, chairs, linens etc. by choosing a full service caterer. They saved on the tax by choosing a preferred caterer.
And they agreed to completely clean up after the event by having the caterer remove all trash, and they, with their friends and family agreed to clean up the house to our standards to save us from bringing in our cleaning crews on the weekend. Upon final inspection they had met all of our requirements, did a thorough cleaning and it saved them a significant amount of money so that the entire event only cost them $3834.00.
